I start it off by my getting a coffee at Aroma at the Central Bus Station in Rishon. Now, today was really a defining moment of my time in Israel. I went to order my coffee and the lady remembered my name and exact coffee order!! That's it. I'm done. A place remembers my coffee order in Israel. I have officially accomplished all that needs to be accomplished here.
Following my ritual coffee, it's a 40 min bus ride to Jerusalem of which I usually spend reading (currently reading The Silkworm by Robert Gailbraith which is amazeballs) and then another 10 min bus ride to ENP's office.
ENP works in the most amazing building. The building has been around since the State of Israel was declared. In fact, big man Benny G had his office in the building when he was the first prime minister.
Today was a fairly normal day. It's the end of the year so I spent the majority of my time working on end of year reports (like the annual report) and various grant applications. There's a volunteer page in the annual report and I was trying to get my gorgeous face as one of the photos but alas, not gonna happen haha mostly because there are a billion other volunteers working in the field (as opposed to our luxurious Jerusalem office) so they deserve more credit than moi.
I also worked on ENP's Instagram account which is my personal little project.

The people I work with really make my time with ENP worth it. In fact my office buddy has found a man who works in the cafeteria who is potentially going to sell us homemade Ethiopian curries and injera after we both agreed there is no really good Ethiopian restaurants around town. Talk about Israeli ingenuity!
After I finish at ENP, I always walk through the shuk (market - think Queen Vic in Melbourne) before I catch the bus home. Today's mission was to find the only fish and chip restaurant, I think in Israel, that the blogs had told me about. And boy were the blogs right! I had cod and chips and it reminded me so much of home. Not to mention the four sauces (garlic mayo and tomato sauce being the shining stars).
#dietstartsin2015.
Now I'm on the bus to pick up my Mum! Wooooooooo. I bought her some Israeli strawberries to sweeten her arrival (ha!)
MM x
