The magical food of Haifa

Now, this wouldn't be a true Mona blog if I didn't dedicate a substantial number of posts to my favourite thing in the whole entire world - FOOD!

The food in Haifa was incredible! There were three places we visited that are worth a mention and that I would defs recommend if you find yourself in Haifa anytime soon.

Fattoush - Andrew and I visited Fattoush on my last foray up north in August and I knew as soon as I got to Haifa, I had to go back (...twice).  It's in the German Colony and I would describe it as a Middle Eastern boho fancyish cafe.  They have a lot of outdoor seating and art.  I would recommend basically anything off the menu but pay special attention to their drinks menu.  The lemonana (mint and lemon drink) is incredible.

LiBira Brewery Pub - Mum and I visited this establishment on Saturday night.  It's located in Downtown Haifa and is a small grungey type pub that serves all your pub favourites.  What I loved about LiBira was 1) I could get bacon on my burger and 2) they have a beer tasting tray for 26 sheks (I think) where you get to try 5 of their tap beers.  They had one that our waitress described as having cherry flavours and it was divine.  There is defs a reason why this place is ranked #4 on TripAdvisor.

Hello bacon! #goodJew
Cafe PLMR (Palmer) - PLMR is located in Downtown Haifa as well and it really truly reminded me of the Melbourne cafe scene.  Super cute and slightly hipsterish, they do excellent coffees and teas and have a small menu including granola, sandwiches (BLTs!), pastries, including the most delicious broccoli quiche I have ever tasted, and banana bread.
